CONTRACT TYPE: 12 month FTC
DEPARTMENT: Finance and Central Support
LOCATION: Flexible, however the successful candidate will be required to travel once a week to a BBC base.
PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £73,000-£83,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLEWe are seeking a dynamic and strategic Finance Business Partner to support the Corporate Functions within the Chief Operating Officer Group (COOG).
In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for managing and steering a complex £400m budget to ensure alignment with the organisation's strategic objectives and performance targets. You will act as a trusted advisor, providing financial insight and challenge to drive informed decision-making and value creation across the business.
This is a unique opportunity to shape a new area of responsibility and be at the forefront of transformation and innovation across the BBC's corporate functions. You will lead change initiatives, introduce new ways of working and influence the future of how we operate. A key part of the role will be leveraging data analytics and digital tools to enhance financial insight, improve forecasting accuracy and support evidence-based decision-making.
Working with multiple senior stakeholders, you'll support high-impact projects that drive strategic value, operational excellence and innovation.

• Deliver robust financial management, control and advisory support to optimise business performance.
• Lead transformation and innovation across corporate functions by driving change initiatives and embedding new ways of working.
• Provide financial expertise for large contract negotiations and lead the development of investment and business cases.
• Manage financial relationships and contracts with commercial subsidiaries, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
• Support the business in organisational redesign efforts, contributing financial insight to structural and operational changes.
• Champion the use of data analytics and digital tools to enhance forecasting, scenario modelling and performance reporting.
• Influence senior leadership by providing high-quality financial insight and acting as a catalyst for continuous improvement.
• Promote finance best practices across the organisation to drive innovation, efficiency and value for money.
• Ensure strong governance, risk management and compliance frameworks are in place and adhered to.
• Provide coaching and training to enhance financial literacy and empower teams to make informed decisions.
• A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with strong commercial acumen.
• Proven experience in business partnering, ideally in a complex or public sector environment.
• A collaborative mindset and a passion for continuous improvement, agility and forward-thinking finance.
• A track record of leading transformation and innovation, solving complex financial challenges and delivering measurable change.
• Experience using data analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or similar) to drive insight and decision-making.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence at a senior level.
