About the Role:

An exciting opportunity is available for an FPGA Engineer to join the instrument infrastructure team, which operates within the organization's central research and development division. This team is responsible for developing core instrument infrastructure used across multiple international engineering groups. The role involves researching, designing, validating, and implementing instrument infrastructure IP with state-of-the-art technologies in a collaborative R&D environment.


About the Team:

The position is based in Barcelona, Spain, as part of a dynamic and expanding R&D team. This team collaborates closely with colleagues in the United States and other global locations. The ideal candidate is a skilled and motivated FPGA Engineer, eager to contribute to technological innovation in the rapidly evolving test and measurement sector.


Responsabilities:

  • Work closely with product architects on understanding FPGA infrastructure requirements.
  • Implement new FPGA features to extend existing capabilities to cover the needs of the next generation products, key markets, and applications.
  • Drive the broader development, testing and production process.


Desired Qualifications:

  • University degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science with focus on FPGA.
  • Strong HDL (Verilog, SystemVerilog) development skills. Highly capable to quickly develop, debug and troubleshoot issues at multiple layers in the system architecture, from FPGA simulation to the software driver layer.
  • Several years of experience designing and implementing complex high-performance systems involving interconnect (PCIe) and network (Ethernet) technologies.


the icing on the cake:

  • Experience with Xilinx devices and Vivado toolchain. Strong understanding of FPGA validation, simulation, static timing analysis and timing constraints.
  • Experience with QuestaSim and VHDL.
  • Familiarity with test and measurement instrument architectures, Embedded Linux, SoC (FPGA/ARM), distributed/edge computing.
  • Programming skills in C++, C#, and scripting languages (Python, TCL).
  • Proficiency with continuous integration and version control.
  • Familiarity with Agile Scrum methodology.
  • Solid understanding of digital circuit design and schematics.
  • A keen problem solver with a positive, team-oriented approach and a proactive and eager nature for designing and developing solutions to challenging problems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
