As a Field Application Engineer, you'll travel across the UK to deliver, integrate, and support our advanced telematics and control systems for first responder fleets. You'll be the technical expert customers rely on, ensuring our life-saving technology performs flawlessly in the field
What you will do
Technical Support & Troubleshooting
- Diagnose and resolve complex electrical, telematics, and integration issues - on-site and remotely.
- Interface with CAN Bus, ECUs, and vehicle networks using advanced diagnostic tools.
- Provide rapid, structured solutions to minimise fleet downtime.
Installation & Integration
- Perform advanced electrical installations and calibrations on 12V/24V emergency vehicles.
- Configure hardware and software to meet customer specifications.
- Validate installations and perform functional testing for seamless integration.
- Document all work for internal knowledge sharing and customer records.
Customer Training & Support
- Deliver engaging demonstrations and technical training sessions for customers.
- Act as the primary technical liaison during field deployments and support cycles.
- Provide feedback to our R&D and engineering teams to drive continuous product improvement.
Collaboration & Continuous Learning
- Work closely with the Sales and Engineering teams to align solutions with customer needs.
- Stay current with emerging automotive and telematics technologies through ongoing training and development.
What you will bring
Must-Have Skills
- Proven experience with automotive electrical systems (12V/24V, wiring harnesses, CAN Bus).
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with a structured approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - comfortable working with technicians, engineers, and senior stakeholders.
- Willingness and flexibility to travel frequently for field assignments.
Nice-to-Have
- Certification or formal training in automotive electrical systems.
- Experience integrating or troubleshooting telematics systems.
- Familiarity with ECU interfacing, ISO standards, or high-voltage safety in EV/HEV environments.
