Salary: £27,000 per annum, pro rata
Location: North Lanarkshire
Contract/Hours: Part time - 28 hours - fixed term until 31 March 2027

Some key responsibilities of the Family Support Practitioner role will be:
- Understanding the issues impacting children and families in North Lanarkshire and have experience of supporting individuals through these issues using a strength based approach.
- Supporting FHANS to grow and change along with the community. A key part of the job is to develop relationships with local families and other organizations / agencies to ensure each family gets what they need at the right time.
- Understanding the needs of families across various localities within North Lanarkshire and offering groups and 1:1 supports to build on strengths
- Undertaking / co-producing strengths based assessments with families and identifying shared goals and outcomes.
- Running family groups in the local community (monthly).
- HNC or SVQ 3 in social care or equivalent.
- Post-qualification experience of working with children, young people and families and achieving positive outcomes through direct contribution with support activities and interventions.
- Caring and compassionate and highly motivated, enthusiastic, committed, able to use your own initiative and able to build positive and supportive relationships with families.
- A sound knowledge of The Promise, in particular the Family Support Principles and Getting It Right for Every Child (GIRFEC) approach.
- Driving licence and access to a car. The job requires the ability to travel according to the needs of the job, with reasonable adjustments, if required, according to the Equality Act.
