Family Help Senior Practitioner (12 Month Fixed Term) - Ref: CH05925

Grade: G11; Salary Range: £49,282 - £54,495

Central & South Unit 4 Systemic Team

Be at the heart of practice development

Responsibilities
  • Provide mentoring, coaching, support and practice expertise to your team to inspire others in their careers and practice with families.
  • Ensure we continue to provide "Outstanding" support for children and families through the guidance you provide to practitioners within your team.
  • Be part of a leadership team that has created a learning organisation with effective and accountable relationships with each other and with partners (Ofsted, 2025).
  • Support the right working conditions, aiming for a manageable workload (average of 12 children per practitioner), high support from managers, essential paperwork only, enabling technologies, and training in Systemic Family Practice for all social workers.
  • Promote wellbeing with specialised clinical supervision, a 9-day fortnight for work/life balance, flexible working and access to specialist employee assistance and therapeutic support when needed.
  • Identify personal specialisms and areas of interest and access training to develop expertise in those areas as part of ongoing development with opportunities to progress into roles such as Consultant Social Worker, Lead Child Protection Practitioner or Team Manager.

Benefits and Conditions
  • Salary Scale £49,282 - £54,495 (% Retention Payments after 2 years, increasing at 4 and 6 years)

Requirements and Safeguarding
  • Note: This post is covered by the Government's Code of Practice on the English Language Fluency Duty for public sector workers. The post holder will be required to communicate verbally with customers and provide advice/information in accurate spoken English.
