We are looking for an experienced Facilities Manager, based in the London office but will travel as required to our other sites in the UK. We also have a strong company commitment to sustainability and reaching a net zero target. This encompasses the conscious management of our sites to realise social value and reduce overall impact on the environment, recommending and helping to implement measures to eliminate or certainly reduce our carbon emissions and positively impact our local communities.
Main Responsibilities:- Special immediate project - In-house Project Manager for London head office refurbishment 2025/2026.
- Responsible for ensuring that each property is well maintained, adequately insured and meets all legal, health & safety, licensing requirements.
- Actively be involved across sites in ensuring that sustainability activities are co-ordinated, data collected, and the appropriate reporting targets are met.
- Remain up to date on all requirements relating to Health & Safety and Statutory compliances in relation to buildings, equipment & employee wellbeing.
- Assist with ESOS assessments.
- Responsible for Building Maintenance, Facilities and associated services for London office as well as all other Corney & Barrow owned properties in the UK. To include landlord responsibilities at one particular site where we have in-situ tenants.
- Management of London office Facilities and Reception staff.
- Health & Safety responsibility and reporting for London Office.
- Advisory, Guidance Assistance for other sites to meet company legal obligations.
- Sustainability, Data Collection and Reporting to meet compliance/legalobligations/company targets for London Office and co-ordination for all other sites.
- Responsible for Corney & Barrow Motor Fleet and general Insurance Portfolio & Claims for UK and 3 x Asia sites.
- Manage Licences (Buildings or non-IT services related)
- Ensure all C&B properties are fully & safely maintained, insured, legally compliant, company targets compliant either by hands on management and/or by liaising with appropriate representatives at each site.
- Manage all building services, facilities including Reception, Security, First Aid, Fire Warden services, Health & Safety, Suppliers, contractors and all associated matters.
- Other C&B Sites, provide overview, advice, guidance, reporting, collation of information to ensure buildings maintenance, landlord responsibilities, health & safety obligations, sustainability criteria and reporting. Compare parity of service provisions where appropriate.
- Liaise with Finance Director, ensure adequate insurance provision for the UK and Asia sites (x 3) - property, contents, liabilities, IT, Cyber, Professional Indemnity, Legal costs, business travel, motor, etc. Process any insurance claims.
- Motor Fleet - current 26 vehicles in UK plus any temporary hires. Vehicles are on contract hire. Liaising with Operations Director re quotations, budgets, ordering, deliveries, insurance cover/claims, MID reporting, contract renewals, information sharing with payroll as appropriate for taxation purposes, driving licence checks, dealing with fines (parking, speeding, bus lane infringements)
- Background in facilities management with multi-site team experience.
- Evident success delivering projects and refurbishments.
- On-call 24/7 for keyholding for London Office (except for pre-booked holiday periods but ensuring that adequate cover is then in place).
- Experienced and knowledgeable regarding building maintenance, services, legal requirements (including landlord requirements) and all facilities provisions.
- Robust project management skills with the ability to prioritise challenging requirements.
- Must have vehicle (mileage claimable) and able to respond to call out within 30 minutes to meet Metropolitan Police requirements on monitored alarm.
- Able to travel to other UK sites.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to engage confidently at all levels.
- Proven experience in managing contractors and leading teams, as well as controlling significant budgets.
- Committed to sustainability ethos and achievement of net zero targets.
- Patient, diplomatic, flexible, practical, helpfully and firm when necessary.
- Cost conscious and committed to ensuring C&B gets the best deal when purchasing services.
- Able to work to a budget.
- Capable of tasks requiring manual handling of items, including loading/unloading and other physically demanding tasks.
- Able to be flexible in terms of hours of work, this may include some weekend working or out of normal office hours working.
- Happy to be hands-on when necessary.
- Broad range knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Experience working with heritage or listed buildings.
