About this job

We are looking for a Facilities Assistant - Porter to provide a full and comprehensive portering and cleaning service to the Altrincham site of Manchester Foundation Trust hospitals.

Key responsibilities include:

• Transfer of patients between wards and departments using bed, trolley and wheelchair.
• Move case request forms, specimens, medicines, equipment, furniture and other items between wards and departments.
• Respond to non scheduled task instructions from the Helpdesk via a hand held device and record completion times.
• Report any issues or delays to the Helpdesk to maintain an audit trail.
• Collect all refuse, including special waste and soiled linen, from wards and departments and deliver to designated holding areas.
• Ensure waste and linen storage areas remain safe, clean, tidy, secure, and that containers are locked.
• Assist other facilities services such as catering and domestic to ensure seamless delivery of services.
