An exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of a Facilities Assistant at Maidstone Police Station The successful candidate will be an integral member of a dedicated team, who deliver heightened engineering, facilities and logistical services within the station.

Maintaining a high level of customer service, with an understanding of the environment and pressures of our operational colleagues, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate an ability to be respectful in their approach and react to pressures as they arise, whilst maintaining the business as usual, core needs of the service.

A willingness to increase knowledge and learn new skills is essential. You must be organised but with an ability to adapt and able to work under pressure, providing appropriate levels of escalation as necessary.

A clean, current UK driving licence is essential as you are expected to travel other locations within Kent when supporting the Logistics service. Following appointment, you will be required to pass an in-house Police Permit Tests for diesel cars, petrol cars, vans and 4x4 as applicable.

In addition, it would be helpful if you could evidence knowledge of

  • items of planned maintenance
  • adhoc minor works including sanitary systems, plumbing, decor, furniture and delivery moves
  • Support of the logistics team.

You will be educated to a minimum of GCSE standard in English and have a basic level of numeracy and IT skills,or have work experience in a similar role.

This role involves a degree of manual handling; therefore, applicants must be able to demonstrate that they are capable of carrying out the duties associated with the position. Knowledge and application of health and safety practices is essential, and training will be provided.

Kent Policeoffer incremental increases within this salary band, therefore the salary for this position will rise to a maximum of£30,453.00.
