Liffey Area Partnership is now inviting expressions of interest for a Human Development Facilitator. This position is offered on a self-employed basis. The organisation particularly welcomes applications from those with a minimum level 8 qualification in Social Sciences, Psychology, Social Care, Early Childhood Education, or a related discipline.

To be invited for an interview, the facilitator must display a range of skills and experience in Human Development and must possess a strong understanding of the principles of adult education as well as a close alignment to the values of the organisation. The facilitator will be paid €50 per hour for all agreed programme-related work, including delivery and preparation. The successful applicant will be expected to undergo Garda Vetting and will be contracted on a self-employed basis.

About the Role

The successful facilitator will work collaboratively with the Project Officer to develop engaging
lesson plans and deliver interactive sessions that meet the needs of the group. The Project Officer
will provide ongoing support throughout the programme, and lesson plans will be co-designed to
ensure the content aligns with the programme objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Preparation of detailed programme plans aligned to the stated objectives and planned
    outcomes of the training programme/facilitated sessions.
  • Designing and delivering meaningful lifelong learning sessions aligned to best practice in
    facilitation and adult education.
  • Ensuring all sessions are delivered in an inclusive fashion cognisant of the variety of needs
    and learning styles of programme participants.
  • Liaising with colleagues in a variety of Liffey Partnership departments to ensure that
    participants are signposted to internal and external services and supports relevant to their
    needs.
  • Participation in session and programme evaluation ensuring that the participant experience
    and outcomes are captured effectively with a view to continuous improvement.
  • Adherence to all relevant Liffey Partnership policies and procedures with regards to
    confidentiality, safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults and health and safety.
  • A minimum Level 8 qualification in Social Sciences, Psychology, Social Care, Early Childhood
    Education, or a related discipline.
  • Experience facilitating group learning with adults in a community, education, or training
    setting.
  • Strong knowledge of human development.
  • Excellent communication and group facilitation skills.
  • Ability to create a welcoming, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work collaboratively with the Project Officer.

  • Demonstrate a high level of specialist professional knowledge relevant to the role.

  • Demonstrate ability to plan, organise and deliver services in an efficient, effective and

  • Demonstrate understanding of and empathy for the challenges facing people in
    disadvantaged communities aligned to the values of the organisation.
  • Knowledge of child and vulnerable adult safeguarding and protection procedures.
  • Possess strong professional and personal boundaries.
