EYFS Teacher

Academics are an education recruitment agency working in partnership with primary schools across South Wales. We are currently seeking a passionate and nurturing Early Years Teacher to join a large, welcoming primary school in Barry, Vale of Glamorgan from September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who is enthusiastic about Early Years education and committed to supporting young children as they begin their learning journey. The successful candidate will join a supportive teaching team in a school with strong leadership and a caring, inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities: Plan and deliver engaging and creative lessons in line with the Early Years Foundation Phase curriculum Support pupils in developing early literacy, numeracy and social skills Assess and monitor pupil progress to inform planning and next steps Create a positive, stimulating and nurturing classroom environment Work collaboratively with colleagues, teaching assistants and parents/carers Support pupils' academic, social and emotional development

Minimum Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one through Academics Previous experience teaching in Early Years, Nursery or Reception Strong understanding of the Early Years curriculum and child development Two professional references from the last two years Excellent classroom management and communication skills

Role Details: Position: Early Years Teacher Contract Type: Temporary Start Date: September 2026 Location: Barry, Vale of Glamorgan Pay Rate: £172.98 - £180 per day (inclusive of holiday pay) Higher rates are available dependent upon experience, training, qualifications and client rate available
