Sir Robert McAlpine, through Integrated Health Projects (IHP), our long-standing joint venture with VINCI Building, has been appointed to deliver the new Leighton Hospital in Crewe as part of the Government's New Hospital Programme.

This is a major opportunity to join the team at the early stages of one of the UK's most significant healthcare programmes. The new hospital will replace the existing Leighton Hospital and will be delivered using the Hospital 2.0 approach, bringing together standardised design, digital innovation, clinical leadership and collaborative delivery to create a modern healthcare environment for patients, staff and the wider community.

We are seeking expressions of interest from experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor's/Commercial Managers who want to play a key role in the delivery of this major programme.

The Commercial Manager/Senior Quantity Surveyor role

We are seeking experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor's to join our team on one of the New Hospital Programme projects in Crewe. This is a career-enhancing opportunity to work on an £800million scheme through to 2033 with our long-standing joint venture IHP.

Key Responsibilities:

• Commercial management across all project stages, ensuring cost control and value optimisation.

• Manage a range of commercial aspects including procurement, tendering, contract administration, variations, and management of subcontract works packages through to final account.

• Provide accurate forecasting, reporting, and risk management.

• Be proactive in minimising risk and cost while maximising value through cost checking and analysis of labour, plant, and materials.

• Collaborate closely with project teams to deliver on time and within budget.

Your profile

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor on large-scale, major projects.

• Ideally experience within healthcare on procure schemes with NEC contract experience.

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline.

• Excellent commercial acumen and negotiation skills.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.

• be a recognised Senior Quantity Surveyor with strong commercial awareness with a focus on profit and cash

• have experience managing a range of commercial aspects including procurement, tendering, contract administration, variations and management of subcontract works packages through to final account.

• be keen to minimise risk, cost and maximise value by cost checking and analysis of labour, plant and materials.
