Under our New Track and Services Division and its commitment with a low carbon economy, the team is focused on the development of engineering services related to the Steel Sector and their needs.
We are looking for an Expert Engineering in Steel Plants Package, belonging to the Solids Handling and Package Units Team.
The Steel Plants Package engineer will develop activities to specify, select and follow up of Equipment found in steelworks, ensuring compliance with the technical, QA/QC and HSE requirements.
The candidate must have an extensive knowledge in material flows and equipment involved in Steelworks, such as Electric Arc Furnaces, Laddle Furnaces, DRI Systems, additive systems, Transfer Cars, Buckets, Pots, Cranes, Carriers, material handling systems of Steel Plants, etc.
It will also be valued experience on modeling simulations derived from "tap to tap" times, as well as logistical movements of the materials inside the Steel Plant in order to e2ectively minimize idle times and achieve the desired Plant capacity.
The candidate must demonstrate experience on projects such as Conceptual Engineering, FEEDs, EPCs, etc.
Key responsibilities:
- Review project specifications and technical requirements
- Prepare equipment technical documentation for inquiry
- Review Vendor o2ers and prepare technical evaluations
- Support procurement team in defining cost evaluation for equipment
- Prepare equipment technical documentation for purchase
- Review, mark-up comments and finalize all vendor drawings, interfacing with other technical disciplines.
- Prepare logistical simulations of the flow of materials inside the plant.
- Attend to internal review activities and participate in inter-discipline review meetings (HAZOP, P&IDs screening, 3D Model review, etc).
- Coordinate and assist other technical disciplines to perform engineering activities providing technical information as utilities and electrical load list, layouts, etc.
- Provide support for expediting and testing activities.
- Provide support to project engineering for Client requirements providing technical information, attending meetings, etc.
Qualifications:
- Steel Plants Package engineer, with at least 10 years of demonstrable experience in Projects of Steel plants.
- Knowledge in the preparation of specifications, design, calculation, selection, technical evaluation of o2ers, inspection and tests of Steel Making Equipment.
- Experience in the application of Norms, International Standards, quality control plans and personnel management for the execution of projects.
- General knowledge of the layout and configuration of Steelworks.
