Experienced Surgical veterinary surgeon vacancy, London

Overview

Soft Tissue Surgeon - East London. My client's largest 24-hour hospital is seeking a talented soft tissue surgeon ready to step into a purely surgical role on a full-time basis. This is a rare opportunity to take on a high-level surgical caseload in a flagship hospital, working alongside an exceptional clinical team. They're looking for a certificate holder or advanced practitioner in surgery, ideally with experience in ultrasonography. In this position, you'll work 40 hours per week, including participation in a weekend rota and two bank holidays each year, supporting the hospital during key times. You'll handle advanced soft tissue cases in collaboration with experienced theatre RVNs, providing outstanding surgical care to patients from local community and an extensive referral network of over 20 branches.

Responsibilities

• Manage surgical care for soft tissue cases spanning GP procedures through to complex referral-level cases, including SUB placement, liver resections and thoracic surgery.
• Collaborate with experienced theatre RVNs and a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality surgical care.
• Work across a full suite of facilities including laparoscopy, thoracoscopy and endoscopy, with access to a modern diagnostic setup and on-site laboratory.
• Support the hospital during peak periods, including participation in a weekend rota and two bank holidays per year.

Qualifications

• Certificate holder or advanced practitioner in surgery, ideally with ultrasonography experience.

Facilities and Team

Facilities feature multiple cautery units, a harmonic scalpel, and a full laparoscopy, thoracoscopy and endoscopy suite. A state-of-the-art diagnostic package includes a new ultrasound scanner, CT scanner and an on-site commercial laboratory. The medical team includes a diagnostic imaging specialist, with surgeons routinely performing advanced orthopaedic, soft tissue and minimally invasive procedures.

Benefits and Compensation

• Salary £80,000-£110,000 (FTE) depending on experience, with scope for progression.
• 6.6 weeks' annual leave including bank holidays.
