Job Description
Experienced Customer Claims Handler - Third Party Motor Damage

We are hiring for this role based in Galway. The position is full-time and can be office-based or hybrid following training and probationary period. Training takes place in our Galway office in Knocknacarra.

We are looking for individuals with minimum APA / CIP qualification and prior claims handling experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • You will spend most of your time reviewing and assessing claims for Third Party claimants.
  • Having high levels of empathy and understanding for our customers and claimants
  • This will involve taking some claim notifications over the phone, providing updates on claims, and working with customers and service providers to progress third party claims towards settlement
  • Managing customer interactions in an efficient, courteous, and timely manner to deliver high standards of customer satisfaction
  • Working proactively with service providers to ensure fair and efficient investigation and evaluation of liability and damage and agreeing appropriate repair, replacement, or reimbursement.
  • Supporting more experienced colleagues in the handling of complex cases
  • Delivering the highest standards of quality to continuously improve
Requirements
  • 1-2 years'Experience in motor claims handling negotiation and settlement
  • Minimum APA qualification or working to obtain CIP in near future
  • Confident, enthusiastic, and professional phone manner
  • Ability to communicate with customers over the phone and multitask
  • Ability to work independently on assigned portfolio to achieve team performance targets
  • Experience of Microsoft Word and Excel and MOffice packages desirable but not required
Regulatory Requirements

If this role is defined as a "controlled function" by the Central Bank Reform Act 2010 Regulations 2011. Any appointment will be conditional on the company being satisfied that you meet the requirements as set out in the Fitness & Probity standards issued in this Act.

This role falls within scope of the Minimum Competency Code (MCC) and requires the jobholder to have attained or be working towards the status of 'Qualified Person' in the relevant function(s) e.g. personal lines, commercial lines and claims, or have attained a Statement of Grandfathered Status in the relevant function(s). A New Entrant working towards the status of 'Qualified Person' must be supervised by a Qualified Person or a Grandfathered Person.

The status of 'Qualified Person' can be achieved through attaining the qualification of Certified Insurance Practitioner (CIP), Accredited Product Advisor (APA), or Associate or Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII or FCII). The jobholder must also comply with all CPD requirements as outlined in the MCC.
