Job Description

Job Title: Exam Invigilator

Location: Whitley Bay

Salary: £13 - £18 per hour (depending on experience)

Start Date: Immediate

Contract Type: Flexible Part-time / Ad-hoc during exam periods

GSL Education are seeking professional Exam Invigilators to work in schools and colleges across Whitley Bay. This is a great opportunity for individuals who are detail-oriented and committed to maintaining a fair and secure exam environment.

About the Role:

As an Exam Invigilator, you will play a key role in ensuring examinations run smoothly and in line with regulations. You will supervise students, provide clear instructions, and maintain a calm and controlled environment that allows pupils to perform at their best.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise students during exams to ensure regulations are followed
  • Distribute and collect exam papers and materials
  • Ensure exam conditions are maintained at all times
  • Provide clear instructions before and during exams
  • Respond to queries in line with exam procedures
  • Report any irregularities or concerns to senior staff
  • Uphold safeguarding and exam board regulations at all times
Requirements:
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and vigilant
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexible availability during exam periods
  • Previous experience is desirable but not essential (training can be provided)
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one
