Our success is through Our People!We are seeking to appoint an experienced and highly motivated Exam Access Arrangements Assessor to join our exceptionally busy and professional Foundation & ALS team.
This is a specialist assessor role within a Further Education setting. The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Head of Inclusion/SENCo and in partnership with the Exams Team, curriculum staff and support staff.
You will complete specialist assessments directly with learners, administer and score appropriate standardised tests, interpret results accurately, make evidence-based recommendations, and write clear assessment reports for submission to the Exams Team.
Applicants must be able to evidence that they meet current JCQ requirements to undertake specialist assessments for exam access arrangements. This is an essential requirement of the role and evidence will be checked during recruitment and before any assessments are undertaken.
You must hold GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 or above. You must also hold one JCQ-compliant assessor route: a postgraduate course at or equivalent to Level 7 in individual specialist assessment, including at least 100 hours relating to individual specialist assessment, a current SpLD Assessment Practising Certificate awarded by BDA, Dyslexia Guild or Patoss and listed on the SASC website; or HCPC registration as an appropriately qualified psychologist. Unless applying as an HCPC-registered psychologist, you must also hold an appropriate qualification to teach and make recommendations for secondary-aged or adult learners with learning difficulties. A Level 5 competence certificate alone is not sufficient for this role.
You will have recent experience of assessing or supporting learners with learning difficulties, SpLD and/or SEND in an educational setting, together with excellent attention to detail, report writing, communication and organisation skills.

As such, the post-holder will be required to undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, including a check of the Children's Barred List, in line with the statutory guidance Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE).
