Overview

Contract: 9-month Fixed-Term Contract with the potential to extend (maternity cover)

Start: August 2025

Salary : £37,500 (Depending on Experience)

Haymarket is a successful international specialist media company with over 60 market-leading brands. The Awards & Forums team is responsible for delivering over 50 annual B2B events ranging from awards ceremonies, forums and networking events.

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Events Manager to personally deliver 5 -6 varying in size, complexity, calendar positioning and budget level. The ability to multi-task and run events concurrently is therefore essential for this role.


Responsibilities

  • Project Oversight: effectively manage project timelines and marketing plan, act as the project lead in decision making across portfolio
  • Budget Management: manage the P&L across their portfolio, striving to meet financial targets
  • Achieving Revenue Targets: oversee call for entries and ticket sales ensuring both financial and volume targets are met
  • Venue/Supplier Negotiation: confidently negotiate with suppliers and to confirm costs on areas of budget
  • Event Attendance: attend your events to ensure they are delivered to the standard expected at Haymarket
  • Stakeholder Management: maintain relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external, venue, suppliers, judges and speakers
  • Sustainability: seek to drive continual improvement in live event sustainability performance and ensure line reports are adhering to SEMS processes.

Skills / Experience / Knowledge / Minimum Criteria

Essential:

  • 3+ years experience working on or part of a large-scale awards and/or commercial B2B events team
  • Understanding of budget management and P&L oversight, with a keen awareness of the financial impact on events
  • Knowledge of events marketing strategies and best practice
  • Solid understanding of the events industry, with established relationships with key suppliers
  • Hands-on experience in venue management and a understanding of health and safety procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth to deliver successful events
  • Strong written and spoken English, with a good eye for detail in reviewing and editing written documents

Desirable:

  • A degree in Hospitality/Event Management or other relevant discipline
  • Good understanding of Evessio (awards management software) or similar
  • Sound negotiating and influencing skills
