Events Manager

As part of this role, you will work closely with colleagues across the Foundation to leverage their knowledge on key topics and thought leaders. You will also lead liaising with the building management team responsible for logistical elements. The successful candidate will manage suppliers such as AV providers, caterers, and creative agencies responsible for event outputs like video, photography, and written materials, ensuring events are delivered on time and within budget. Additionally, you will liaise with the Lloyd's Register Group events team to manage space allocation in the building.
The Events Manager will assist with delivering a small-scale annual 'Impact Showcase' in 2026 to highlight our funding outcomes. They will also support the Strategic Communications team in organizing smaller workshops and round tables as needed.
While most work will focus on the Lloyd's Register building events program, the role may also support a few external events overseas, time permitting.
About the Team:Lloyd's Register Foundation is a global safety charity moving back into its historic Grade 2 listed building at 71 Fenchurch Street after refurbishment. The building houses the Foundation, Lloyd's Register, and the Heritage Centre, which features a library and archive on marine and engineering history. The Centre aims to promote maritime safety and serves as a hub for thought leadership, discussion, and debate in the maritime sector.
The Foundation aims to host events that foster discussion on maritime safety, invite global speakers, and potentially fund community programs to inspire young people towards maritime careers.

- Utilize Foundation channels to promote events and maximize engagement.
- Coordinate with communication professionals, videographers, and photographers for content sharing.
- Oversee the entire event process from planning to post-event evaluation.
- Manage event budgets within allocated parameters.
- Keep colleagues informed of progress and issues.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external suppliers and thought leaders.
- Collaborate with the Strategic Communications team for integrated event planning.
- Work with Lloyd's Register colleagues on joint event opportunities.
- Five+ years of managing and delivering event programs with proven results.
- Maritime sector experience (desirable).
- Knowledge of the charity sector (desirable).
