Job Description

Join our facilities team as a General Cleaning Operative where you will ensure our premises remain clean and safe. This role is ideal for those dedicated to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and operational safety.


Type of Contract: Casual

Salary: £13.85 per hour

Hours: 5pm - 10pm (Saturday), 3pm - 8pm (Sunday)

Location: Covent Garden

Desirable start date: June 2025


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive cleaning tasks including vacuuming, dusting, and washing floors.
  • Replenish bathroom supplies and ensure areas such as classrooms and toilets are clean.
  • Report any maintenance issues, hazards, or security concerns to the Facilities Head or supervisor.
  • Support in emergency situations like fire evacuations and assist with setting up meeting rooms as needed.
  • Monitor and maintain stock levels of cleaning supplies.


Requirements:

  • Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong commitment to health and safety practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Basic IT skills and a reasonable level of physical fitness.
  • Experience in a similar role within a school, college, or office environment is desirable but not essential.

Desirable:

  • Interest in obtaining COSHH certification and qualifications in First Aid and Fire Safety.
  • History of working in large area cleaning with a strong sense of responsibility and pride in work. .
