Job Description
At Elk Recruitment, we are looking for a driven Estimator to join our client's growing team based in Dublin. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Estimator to make a real impact in an innovative and growing organization.
Responsibilities- Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for a range of construction projects (commercial, residential, healthcare, education, etc.)
- Analyse drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate cost plans
- Manage the full tendering process from initial enquiry through to final submission
- Identify project risks and opportunities, incorporating them into pricing strategies
- Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations
- Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams to clarify scope and requirements
- Present tender reviews and recommendations to senior management
- Maintain and update cost databases and historical records
- Mentor and support junior estimators and contribute to team development
- Attend pre and post-tender meetings as required
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline
- 5-10 years' experience in an estimating role
- Strong knowledge of the Irish construction market, including suppliers and subcontractors
- Proven track record in successfully delivering competitive tenders across multiple project types
- Excellent understanding of construction methods, materials, and building regulations in Ireland
- High level of commercial awareness and attention to detail
- Proficiency in estimating software
- Strong communication, negotiation, and organisational skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
