Employee Relations Advisor (3-Month Contract)

Portsmouth (Office-based, 5 days per week)

£22-£23 per hour + holiday pay

We're currently supporting a client in the search for an experienced Employee Relations Advisor to join their HR team on an initial 3-month contract based in Portsmouth.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ER specialist who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can confidently manage a broad range of complex employee relations casework from start to finish.

The Role

As Employee Relations Advisor, you'll provide expert advice and guidance to managers across a wide range of ER matters, ensuring cases are managed fairly, consistently, and in line with employment legislation and organisational policy.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing a high-volume ER caseload including disciplinaries, grievances, sickness absence, performance and capability
• Advising managers on employment law, policy, and best practice
• Supporting investigations, hearings, and appeals
• Drafting outcome letters and case documentation
• Coaching and upskilling managers on ER processes
• Supporting wider HR initiatives and change projects where required

About You

• Proven experience in a dedicated Employee Relations / HR Advisory role
• Strong end-to-end employee relations case management experience is essential
• Solid understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice
• Ability to manage sensitive and complex cases with confidence and professionalism
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Previous public sector experience would be highly desirable
• Available to work on-site in Portsmouth, 5 days per week
