The Team:
This is a fantastic opportunity for an Equity Valuation Specialist to join the Global Valuation Group (GVG) Methodology team at Bank of America. Working within the wider Global Banking and Markets CFO team in London, you will oversee valuation control for the inventory within the Equity Derivatives and Hybrids business. The role involves close collaboration with stakeholders including Business Finance & Control teams, Trading, Quants, Market Risk, Model Validation, Technology, Internal and External Audit, regulatory bodies, and data vendors. This position offers the chance to contribute to valuation control, data automation, global projects, and to develop leadership skills.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and improve Valuation Control Methodology for Equity Derivatives, including IPV, Valuation Adjustment, Valuation Uncertainty, and Fair Value Hierarchy.
- Analyze IPV results and resolve valuation issues with Trading Desk and Business Finance & Control teams.
- Collaborate with Quant and Model Validation teams to enhance model governance, identify limitations, and validate Valuation Adjustment methodologies.
- Utilize expertise in financial markets, products, and consensus data to understand valuation trends, liquidity, and uncertainty.
- Partner with Market Risk to refine methodologies for Liquidity Reserve, Close-out-Cost, and Concentration Reserve.
- Drive operational excellence by automating workflows through end-to-end solutions.
- Coordinate with global Valuation teams to ensure consistency in valuation control, reporting, and governance.
- Present complex valuation findings and challenges to Senior Management, Auditors, and Regulators.
- Mentor junior team members and foster technical skill development.
What we are looking for:
- Experience in large, complex financial services organizations performing valuation control, risk management, or model development.
- Expertise in Vanilla and Exotic Equity Derivative pricing models; knowledge of other financial products is a plus.
- Understanding of current global and regulatory standards related to financial instrument valuation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proven influencing and negotiation abilities.
- Experience interacting with regulators, auditors, and senior management.
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
