Job Description
Equipment Technician - Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service

As an Equipment Technician in our Assets department, you will:

  • Be responsible for the inspection, testing, maintenance and repair of a wide range of complex operational equipment, ensuring all work is carried out to the required standard as stipulated by the Fleet & Equipment Manager with reference to Loler, PuWER & all associated British and European standards, NFCC best practice guidelines and DWFRS policy and procedures.
  • Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to diagnose and rectify defects, ensuring any work performed is completed to the appropriate standard.
  • Provide technical and operational advice in ensuring safe and appropriate use of operational equipment, directly to operational crews and to working groups such as Equipment Review Group and other internal steering groups.

  • Ability to deliver individual project work and meet targets while maintaining quality control in an efficient and flexible manner
  • Strong attention to detail particularly for accurate data entry onto the Asset Management System

Salary: £31,537 - £33,143 per annum (rising by annual increments to £33,143)
