Job Title: Equipment Maintenance Technician

6 Month Rolling PAYE Contract

12 Hour Day Shifts (8am -8pm) 3 days on, 4 days off

Job Description

This role focuses on Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) and instrumentation within a modern factory environment. You act as a key technical contact for CIM-related escalations and provide hands-on support for advanced test instrumentation used by global development teams, including Radio Frequency (RF) chambers. You ensure equipment operates reliably, processes run efficiently, and quality standards are consistently met.

Responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for technical escalations related to computer integrated manufacturing technology within the factory.
• Investigate and resolve technical issues affecting CIM equipment and test instrumentation in a timely and structured manner.
• Perform calibration, audits, and preventive maintenance on CIM equipment to ensure accurate, reliable and safe operation.
• Support production teams from both product and process perspectives, helping to optimise performance and minimise downtime.
• Drive continuous improvement and process innovation to increase efficiency and maintain high quality standards across manufacturing operations.
• Support the development, commissioning and operation of cutting-edge test instrumentation, including Radio Frequency (RF) chambers.
• Carry out equipment inspection and assembly tasks as required to maintain and improve manufacturing capabilities.
• Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing colleagues to implement robust repair and maintenance solutions.
• Document maintenance activities, calibration results and technical findings clearly to support traceability and ongoing improvement.

Essential Skills

• Proven experience in engineering-focused equipment maintenance within a manufacturing or factory environment.
• Strong repair and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues on CIM equipment and instrumentation.
• Hands-on experience performing calibration, audits and preventive maintenance on complex machinery or test equipment.
• Practical knowledge of assembly and inspection processes related to manufacturing equipment and systems.
• Ability to support production teams from both product and process perspectives, aligning equipment performance with operational needs.
• Good understanding of continuous improvement and process innovation principles within manufacturing settings.
• Competence in working with computer integrated manufacturing technology and related control systems.
• Clear and accurate documentation skills for recording maintenance work, calibration data and technical investigations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Relevant engineering or technical qualification related to manufacturing, instrumentation, or equipment maintenance.
• experience supporting or operating advanced test instrumentation, including Radio Frequency (RF) chambers, is highly beneficial.
• Familiarity with world-class manufacturing practices and quality standards.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively alongside production and engineering teams.
• A proactive mindset with an interest in continuous learning and staying up to date with evolving manufacturing technologies.
