Equine Services Administrator (Weight Adding)

A full-time, permanent vacancy has arisen within the Equine Services Pillar to join the team that administer horse racing in Great Britain, working primarily on checking qualification and allocating weights of horses in races, as part of a high-profile team that is responsible for all aspects of administration.
Key Responsibilities- Checking that the correct weights have been allocated in races
- Ensuring publication of race data meets deadlines
- Checking Jockey claims and qualification
- Liaising with Trainers, Owners and the BHA
- Helping ensure prize money is paid out correctly
- Dealing with queries, both on the phone and by email
- Professional and polite telephone manner
- Good interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Ability to organise and prioritise workload
- Good team player
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Having a flexible approach in a fast-changing environment
- An interest in horse racing would be beneficial, but is not essential
The role will be 35 hours per week, 08:30-16:30, with a variable working pattern covering 5 days per week, including some weekends. Applicants will initially be required to work from Head Office in Wellingborough; after successfully passing the probation period a hybrid working pattern can be reviewed.
