We are looking to recruit an Equality and Inclusion officer to join our Partnership and Performance team on a permanent basis.
About the role
You will be working with a range of internal and external stakeholders to deliver inclusive engagement, analyse data, and support strategic reporting and decision-making.
This role is pivotal in ensuring that our work aligns with the principles of the Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015 and meets the requirements of the Public Sector Equality Duty.
On a day-to-day basis, you will:
- develop and implement a consistent and inclusive approach to engagement and consultation with the public, staff, and stakeholders
- ensure the Council's compliance with the Public Sector Equality Duty, including delivering our Strategic Equality Plan, monitoring progress and publishing accessible reports
- coordinate a framework of engagement groups, ensuring meaningful involvement of service users
- develop strategies aimed at reducing the impact of poverty, including child poverty and food poverty
- support the Integrated Impact Assessment process, ensuring effective use of engagement data and other evidence to inform decision-making
You will be passionate about equality, inclusion, and community engagement and have the following key skills:
- strong interpersonal and communication skills across varied audiences
- experience in planning and delivering engagement activities
- confident presenter with excellent report-writing skills
- organised, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities
- skilled in coordinating meetings and working independently
- enthusiastic team player with a flexible approach
- full driving licence and ability to travel independently
- passion for partnership working and collaboration
Welsh language
