Join Our Team: Environment & Sustainability Advisor at Sizewell C

I am excited to offer a unique opportunity to play a crucial role in shaping the future of sustainable energy with the Civil Works Alliance. As an Environment & Sustainability Advisor, you will be instrumental in supporting the Sizewell C project-a 3.2-gigawatt power station that will generate low carbon electricity for around 6 million homes, securing a clean energy future for the UK.

Position

Environment & Sustainability Advisor - Location: Suffolk.

Your Role
  • Provide expert advice and support to operational teams on environmental management and compliance with the Development Consent Order.
  • Develop and sustain local environmental management plans that uphold our commitment to sustainability.
  • Collaborate with regulators, clients, subcontractors, and local stakeholders, fostering relationships and ensuring compliance.
  • Investigate and report environmental incidents, contributing valuable insights and recommendations.
  • Attend project meetings and liaise with diverse stakeholders on sustainability matters.
  • Deliver value adding environment projects and drive ecological enhancements across the site.
What You'll Bring
  • A degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or a related discipline.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of environmental management, sustainable development, and legislation.
  • Practical experience in ecology, archaeological mitigation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Membership with the Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment (IEMA).
  • A full UK driver's license with the flexibility to travel.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and proficiency in MS Office applications.
Desirable Attributes
  • An internal environmental auditor qualification and ecological surveying competency.
  • Familiarity with Development Consent Orders and Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects.
  • A Master's degree in a relevant field and NEBOSH H&S Diploma or equivalent.
