Job Description
The HSE Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the Health, Safety & Environment strategy across multiple large-scale (offshore) renewable projects. You will work closely with project leadership, site teams, subcontractors, and senior management to ensure consistent application of HSE standards and continuous improvement across the organisation.
This is a hands-on role requiring strong leadership, stakeholder management, and a proactive approach to safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all HSE activities across onshore sites, construction projects, and offshore installation operations.
- Develop and implement HSE plans, policies, and procedures aligned with organisational and legal requirements.
- Manage a team of HSE advisors and support staff across multiple project locations.
- Conduct high-level site audits, inspections, and management system reviews.
- Oversee incident investigations, root cause analysis, and ensure timely close-out of corrective actions.
- Provide expert HSE support during project planning, risk assessments, and method statement reviews.
- Coordinate emergency preparedness, environmental compliance, and safety training initiatives.
- Drive continuous improvement in safety culture through leadership engagement, coaching, and workforce involvement.
- Report HSE performance to senior management and external stakeholders, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Represent the company in client meetings, industry forums, and regulatory interactions.
Requirements:
- Minimum 7-10 years of experience in an HSE leadership role within offshore wind, high-voltage cable installation, heavy industry, construction, or energy infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of Dutch and EU HSE regulations, as well as ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
- Proven experience managing HSE across complex, multi-contractor project environments.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence at all organisational levels.
- Relevant certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, HVK, MVK, VCA, or equivalent.
- Willingness to travel regularly to national and international project sites.
- Fluent in English; Dutch is an advantage but not mandatory.
