Enterprise Architect for Master Data Management

A leading organisation is seeking a highly experienced Enterprise Architect for Master Data Management to support a major Enterprise Data Management (EDM) and Master Data strategic programme. The company is undergoing significant transformation across ERP and CRM platforms, where Customer and Product Master Data quality, governance, and architecture are critical to programme success.
This Enterprise Architect for Master Data Management role will play a pivotal part in shaping enterprise data standards, defining the target data architecture, and ensuring consistent master data capabilities across systems. Communication and collaboration skills are essential, with stakeholders spread across multiple business functions and global regions.

- Improved accessibility and usability of enterprise master data
- Define the MDM target architecture across ERP, CRM, data platforms, data lakes/lakehouses, integration layers, and governance tools.
- Support the development of the MDM operating model (roles, responsibilities, ownership).
- Align ERP/CRM structures to enterprise-wide data models and standards.
- Define naming standards, attribute definitions, hierarchies, and relationships.
- Document matching, merging, survivorship, and validation rules.
- Define business rules for data quality, completeness, lifecycle, and enrichment.
- Establish metadata management and governance standards.
- Work with governance teams to define quality KPIs, stewardship workflows, and ownership processes.
- Design and oversee master data migration architecture and strategy.
- Define standards for transformation logic, mapping, deduplication, enrichment, and survivorship.
- Validate readiness for mock loads, SIT/UAT data, and cutover execution.
- Design MDM capabilities including match/merge logic, master data hubs, workflows, and governance.
- Define integration patterns across ERP, CRM, and wider enterprise systems (APIs, events, batch).
- Ensure semantic consistency across operational and analytical environments.
- Maintain schema version control and conduct impact assessments.
- Communicate architectural principles to executive leaders, programme managers, solution architects, and data teams.
- Lead or actively participate in MDM design authorities and data governance councils.
- Master Data Management experience with major ERP or CRM transformation programmes.
- Expertise with Informatica and either SAP ECC / S/4HANA or Salesforce (Veeva CRM beneficial).
- Deep understanding of Customer and/or Product master data domains.
- Data modelling skills across conceptual, logical, and physical levels using recognised modelling tools.
- Experience designing and governing enterprise data architectures and data flows across platforms.
- Knowledge of DAMA-DMBOK, TOGAF, or similar frameworks (certifications advantageous).
- Analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.
- Effective communicator across global teams and all seniority levels.
- Experience in Consumer Healthcare or CPG industries advantageous.
- Familiarity with domain-specific challenges related to Product, Customer, Vendor, Finance, People, Location or transactional sales/consumption data.
