ENT Specialist Grade

The ENT and Audiology department at James Cook University Hospital is looking to appoint a Specialist Grade Doctor with special interest in Hearing and Balance to support the delivery of the services we provide across University Hospitals Tees.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide autonomous care for hearing and balance patients referred to the department. They will be expected to play a pivotal role in managing interactions between ENT and local vestibular diagnostic and rehabilitation services. Additionally, they will provide support and training to audiologists and other clinicians involved in the care of balance patients.

Person Specification Qualifications
  • Full GMC registration
  • MRCS & DOHNS Qualification
  • Certificate of Audiological Competence (CAC) qualification
  • MSc in Audiology
  • PhD and evidence of published peer reviewed research
K&S
  • Ability to organise and prioritise complex demands
  • Evidence of research or innovative service developments
  • Ability to organise, co ordinate and lead a team
  • Evidence of management and administrative experience
  • Management training
Experience
  • Evidence of experience in general ENT
  • Evidence of ability to carry out and interpret advanced high level vestibular diagnostic testing
  • Evidence of teaching and training skills for resident doctors
  • Evidence of working in a multi disciplinary team
  • Evidence of any additional training in ENT
  • Evidence of developing educational material or courses
