English Teacher

Flourish Education is working in partnership with a friendly and supportive secondary school in Solihull that is looking to recruit an English Teacher from October half term 2026 until July 2027.

The successful English Teacher will teach English Language and English Literature across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, delivering engaging lessons that inspire a love of learning and help students achieve excellent outcomes.

Job Role:

• Deliver engaging English lessons across Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4)
• Plan and prepare lessons in line with the National Curriculum
• Assess, monitor and report on student progress
• Maintain high expectations for behaviour and implement school policies consistently
• Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils
• Contribute to departmental planning and wider school initiatives
• Build positive relationships with students, colleagues and parents

Required Skills and Experience:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in English (ECTs welcome to apply)
• Experience teaching English in a UK secondary school
• Strong subject knowledge of English Language and English Literature across KS3 and KS4
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
• Experience planning and delivering lessons independently
• A positive reference from your most recent employer

What We Offer:

• Long-term English Teacher role from October half term 2026 until July 2027
• Full-time position
• Pay from £174.71 to £240.70 per day, which equates to £34,068 to £46,937 per annum, based on working five days per week for a full school year (M1-M6), dependent on experience

This secondary school is based in Solihull and is easily accessible by car and public transport from Shirley, Knowle, Dorridge, Acocks Green, Hall Green, Birmingham, Coventry, Redditch, Sheldon, and surrounding areas. Onsite parking is available for staff.
