Key Responsibilities

• Teach GCSE English/Functional Skills English to learners from Entry Level to Level 2 within the college.
• Develop lesson plans to effectively cover the full lesson duration.
• Deliver lessons using various teaching styles depending on the content.
• Create an engaging classroom atmosphere to motivate students.
• Instruct students on the structure and content of the English language.
• Teach spelling, word meanings, grammar, and sentence construction.
• Guide students on correct pronunciation.
• Encourage critical thinking through literature and poetry analysis.
• Help students analyze and question media reports, advertisements, and news reports.

Skills & Experience

• Right to Work & Enhanced Adult/Child DBS within the last 3 months or on the update service.
• A UK-recognized teaching qualification such as PGCE, DTLLS, Cert Ed, or equivalent.
• Bachelor's degree in English or related field.
• Up-to-date knowledge of teaching techniques and English topics.
• Excellent spoken and written English skills.
• Experience in delivering English instruction.
