Engineering at StackAdapt:
As an Engineering Manager I at StackAdapt, you will be directly involved in the development of our advertising platform, producing production level code that will have a direct impact on the success of our product. You will work with large data sets and have exposure to modern tech stacks around GoLang, Ruby on Rails, React, GraphQL and more. StackAdapt's engineering organization believes in working collaboratively and cross functionally. We're seeking a technical Engineering Manager I to help lead our growing full-stack engineering team. The digital advertising industry is riddled with interesting challenges as we continue to scale out our platform with a fast growing list of customers.

About the team:
We are expanding the capabilities of our fully fledged creatives library that allows clients to store, host and manage bulk creative assets for ad campaigns on the platform. We offer creative templates for clients to build quick off-the-shelf display creatives on the platform, aim to reduce the need to integrate with expensive third-party creative providers that charge on a CPM basis, and provide in-house solutions.
StackAdapt is a Remote First company, we are open to candidates located anywhere in North America for this position.
What you'll be doing- Lead and mentor a team of 3-4 talented engineers within full-stack web engineering
- Make a positive impact on the team's productivity and growth
- Act as a hands-on manager and participate in project design and implementation
- Promote software development best practices and conduct rigorous code reviews
- Plan and architect scalable web APIs and backend systems, and build UI components
- Work closely with Product Managers and Designers to ensure requirements and priorities align
- Conduct interviews to attract and identify potential high-performing candidates
- Balance and prioritize projects to maximize efficiency and ensure company objectives are achieved
- Proven track record of delivering results and leading growing high-impact teams
- At least 5 years experience in full-stack software development in web technologies and architecting scalable systems in a successful high-growth technology company
- At least 1 years of leadership experience with at least 3 direct reports, including essential people management experiences listed above
- You have in-depth experience with Typescript, React and GraphQL
- You have experience working with modern frontend libraries and frameworks (eg. Redux, Zustand, Jest)
- Experience scaling a Ruby on Rails backend architecture is a plus
- Experience in AWS is a plus
- A strong understanding of computer science fundamentals (we have not forgotten our basics!) - data structures, system design, cloud computing, full-stack development etc.
