The Role

The Engineering Manager will lead multiple software and cloud infrastructure teams, with ownership across delivery, people management, and technical direction. This is a hands on leadership role for someone who has progressed from a senior engineering background and enjoys balancing people leadership with technical oversight. You'll work closely with senior stakeholders to ensure engineering execution aligns with business priorities, while building high performing, engaged teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop software engineers, QA, and cloud infrastructure teams
• Own delivery outcomes across multiple workstreams, ensuring quality and predictability
• Guide architectural decisions and promote best practices across coding, testing, and design
• Partner with product and senior leadership to shape roadmaps and prioritisation
• Drive Agile delivery processes and continuous improvement
• Oversee Azure cloud environments, focusing on availability, security, scalability, and cost optimisation
• Act as a senior technical voice, translating business goals into engineering execution

We are looking for:

• Strong background in software development (C# / .NET) with web technologies (ASP.NET MVC, HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
• Experience with Entity Framework and SQL Server or similar databases
• Previous experience as a Tech Lead, or Software Engineering Manager
• Proven people leadership experience, including coaching, performance management, and hiring
• Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments
• Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
• Solid understanding of Azure cloud services and infrastructure management
• Experience in financial services, insurance, or regulated environments is a plus
