Monk offers visual expertise through Computer Vision and Deep Learning algorithms. Our AI can detect and classify vehicle damages from smartphone photos. We are developing a world-class damage detection and computer vision service. We seek individuals with a data-centric approach to help shape the future of vehicle damage detection.

The Opportunity

Monk leverages Computer Vision and Deep Learning to detect and classify damages on vehicles from smartphone photos. Our collaborations include international leaders such as ACV Auctions (USA), CAT Logistics (Europe), Getaround (France), Autobiz (Europe), and Hgreg (Canada).

We are building a top-tier online damage detection system and are looking for a recent PhD graduate ("Jeune Docteur e") to join our ML team. Your focus will be on enhancing our computer vision models and developing new features like video-based vehicle inspection. You will work on challenging problems such as instance and semantic segmentation, 3D reconstruction, and instance tracking within a team of about 10 computer vision scientists.

Missions

• Improve segmentation models and develop new approaches aligned with SOTA
• Assist with integrating ML models into production
• Document progress thoroughly
• Expand ML capabilities in areas like 3D, video, and edge computing

Skills

• Strong knowledge in Computer Vision and Deep Learning, especially detection and segmentation
• Ability to analyze results using statistical and modeling techniques
• Understanding of classical machine learning concepts: classification, regression, clustering
• Proficiency in Python scripting and programming
• Willingness to learn and apply new data collection and annotation technologies
• Ability to lead projects in collaboration with team leads and product managers
• Clear communication of results and suggestions

Bonus/Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with 3D or video ML applications
• Experience with edge computing
• Familiarity with PyTorch or Detectron2

Background

• PhD in Computer Vision and/or Deep Machine Learning
• Experience with Python, Pytorch, ClearML
• Knowledge of version control with Github
