Energy Projects Lawyer (5+ PQE) Senior Associate / Legal Director Leading International Firm Birmingham / Hybrid Working

Role

As a Senior Associate or Legal Director in the Energy team, you will advise on a broad range of complex and high-value transactions across the energy sector, including renewables, low carbon technologies, and traditional utilities. Working on a hybrid basis, you will collaborate with colleagues and clients across multiple jurisdictions, delivering commercially focused legal solutions on cutting edge projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of energy and commercial contracts
• Advising on project documentation for renewable, net zero, and low carbon energy generation and storage projects
• Providing legal advice on energy law, regulation, and compliance
• Supporting clients on risk management and mitigation strategies within energy projects
• Representing clients in negotiations with project counterparties
• Staying up to date with legislative and regulatory developments in the energy sector
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary and international teams to deliver tailored client solutions

About You

• Be a qualified solicitor with significant experience in commercial contracts
• Have strong drafting and negotiation skills, with experience handling complex transactional matters
• Ideally have experience in, or a strong interest in, the energy sector and related regulatory frameworks
• Be confident advising clients on risk, compliance, and commercial strategy
• Possess excellent analytical skills and the ability to communicate complex legal issues clearly
• Be proactive, collaborative, and keen to contribute to the continued growth of the team
