Job Description

Energy Lead

A long-established multidisciplinary engineering and environmental consultancy is seeking an experienced Energy Lead to develop and grow its Energy team. Reporting to Executive Leadership at Associate Director level, this is a strategic leadership opportunity to shape and expand the organisation's energy offering across Ireland's rapidly evolving energy and utilities sector.

Qualifications:

  • Level 8 Honours Degree (or equivalent), preferably in Electrical Engineering.
  • Chartered status with a recognised professional institution (e.g. Engineers Ireland) is desirable.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 15 years' post-qualification experience.
  • Proven senior leadership experience within the energy or utilities sector.
  • Strong project management background delivering major energy infrastructure projects, such as:
  • High-voltage transmission and distribution.
  • Wind energy developments.
  • Grid infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of Irish energy regulation and high-voltage grid infrastructure.
  • Experience working with utilities, transmission or distribution system operators, or major energy developers is highly desirable.
  • Consultancy design or design management experience is advantageous.
  • International project experience is welcomed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead client relationships and oversee projects from initial engagement through to commissioning.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams including environmental, planning and engineering specialists.
  • Drive business growth across renewable energy and energy infrastructure sectors, including: Wind energy, Solar energy, Hydrogen, Hydropower, Biogas, Grid transformation, Decarbonisation, Transmission interconnectors
  • Champion the highest standards of health, safety and professional integrity.
  • Build, mentor and develop high-performing technical teams.
  • Ensure excellence in technical delivery, project performance and client satisfaction.
  • Promote innovation, continuous improvement and professional development across the business.
  • Support the organisation's commitment to sustainability, quality and continuous professional development.

Location & Working Arrangements:

  • Hybrid working model with up to three days per week working remotely.
  • Flexible working hours available.
  • Multiple office locations available across Ireland.
  • Some travel between offices, project sites and client meetings will be required.
