Sompo has a unique opportunity for an Energy Exposure Analyst in our Energy team within our Underwriting business.

Our London-based team underwrites complex and diverse risks globally in a pragmatic and consistent manner, aiming to forge long-term, sustainable partnerships. Supported by Sompo International's strong financial position, we offer significant capacity, backed by dedicated risk engineering, energy claims handling capabilities, and underwriting through our platforms in the UK and Continental Europe.

What you'll be doing:

• Ensuring the accurate and timely capture of Upstream Energy exposures into our aggregation system (ExposureHub).
• Producing monthly aggregate and modeling reports to support underwriting and governance processes.
• Assisting in preparing Reinsurance Submissions, including running RDS reports and presenting findings to senior analysts.
• Providing support for catastrophe modeling (using RMS), with a focus on Gulf of Mexico wind exposures.
• Collaborating with underwriting support functions such as Claims, Risk, and Compliance.
• Supporting the Underwriting team in managing the Energy book; occasionally assisting with other lines of business like Aviation and Marine.
• Preparing and analyzing data for underwriting, including account pricing, overviews, and account performance.

What you'll bring:

• A degree in a numerate or scientific discipline.
• Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with catastrophe modeling (e.g., RMS) is advantageous but not essential.
• Familiarity with ExposureHub software is beneficial but not mandatory (training provided).
• Prior insurance industry experience is a plus but not required.
• Knowledge of Power BI and programming languages such as SQL, Python, R is desirable.
