Job Description
Reporting into the HR team, you will provide specialist employee relations support across a range of complex casework and people initiatives, with responsibilities including:
- Managing a varied caseload of employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, capability and absence cases
- Conducting investigations into workplace concerns and preparing detailed case documentation and recommendations
- Providing employee relations advice and guidance to managers in line with company policies and UK employment legislation
- Supporting formal hearings and meetings, ensuring a fair, consistent and compliant approach
- Acting as a key escalation point for complex employee relations queries
- Advising on reasonable adjustments and coordinating occupational health referrals where required
- Supporting mediation and informal resolution of workplace conflicts
- Monitoring employee relations trends and producing insights to support proactive people initiatives
- Assisting with the review, development and communication of HR policies and procedures
- Maintaining accurate employee relations records and documentation for audit and reporting purposes
- Supporting employee engagement, wellbeing and inclusion initiatives across the business
- Building strong relationships with stakeholders across HR and the wider organisation
- Proven experience in an Employee Relations Advisor, ER Specialist or HR Advisor role with a strong employee relations focus
- Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and employee relations best practice
- Experience managing complex employee relations cases from investigation through to resolution
- Excellent advisory, coaching and stakeholder management skills
- Strong investigation, problem-solving and report-writing capabilities
- Experience working within a large, complex or regulated environment
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Experience using HR systems and maintaining accurate employee records
- Exposure to employee relations reporting, data analysis and trend monitoring would be advantageous
- Previous experience within financial services, professional services or another regulated environment would be beneficial
- Up to £60,000
- Hybrid working: 2-3 days in the office
