Senior Employee Relations Manager
Location: Cambridge
Hours: Full Time - 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £49,387

Senior Employee Relations ManagerAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Employee Relations professional to join a large, complex medical organisation in a senior employee realtions advisor.

This position offers the opportunity to support key stakeholders by providing expert Employee Relations advice, leading a dedicated HR team and partnering with senior stakeholders on complex people matters.

The RoleReporting to the Head of Employee Relations, you'll provide specialist advice and guidance on a wide range of complex employee relations matters while leading and supporting a team of Employee Relations Advisors.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing complex disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence and change management cases.

  • Providing expert advice on employment law, HR policies and best practice.

  • Leading and developing a team of Employee Relations Advisors.

  • Supporting senior managers through formal hearings, investigations and appeals.

  • Representing management at appeal hearings and Employment Tribunals where required.

  • Building effective relationships with senior leaders, managers and Trade Union representatives.

  • Designing and delivering management and HR training programmes.

  • Reviewing and developing HR policies and procedures.

  • Leading and supporting workforce projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Deputising for the Head of Employee Relations when required.

About YouTo be successful, you'll have:

  • CIPD qualification (or equivalent HR experience).

  • Significant experience managing complex Employee Relations cases.

  • Excellent knowledge of UK employment law and its practical application.

  • Experience managing or leading HR professionals.

  • Outstanding communication, coaching and stakeholder management skills.

  • The ability to influence and challenge at senior level.

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a busy workload.

  • Experience delivering management training and supporting organisational change.
Experience within the a clinical/ medical or another large, unionised organisation would be highly advantageous.
