Job Description

Venn Group is delighted to be recruiting for an Employee Relations Manager on behalf of a respected charitable organisation operating across Kent and Surrey.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Employee Relations professional to join a values-driven organisation that delivers essential services within local communities. Working closely with senior leaders and managers, you will provide expert employee relations support, helping to promote best practice, manage complex casework and ensure a positive and legally compliant employee experience across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the organisation's employee relations specialist, providing expert advice and guidance to managers and senior stakeholders
  • Lead on complex employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, absence, capability and performance cases
  • Support and coach managers to build confidence and capability in handling people management issues
  • Develop and promote employee relations best practice, ensuring consistency and compliance across the organisation
  • Contribute to organisational change programmes and support managers through consultation and implementation processes
  • Review, develop and implement employee relations policies, procedures and guidance
  • Analyse employee relations data and provide insights to identify trends and support informed decision-making
  • Build positive relationships with trade unions, employee representatives and key stakeholders

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Previous experience working as an Employee Relations Manager or in a specialist employee relations capacity
  • Extensive employee relations experience with sound knowledge of UK employment law
  • Proven ability to manage complex and sensitive cases while balancing organisational and employee needs
  • Strong influencing skills with the ability to challenge and build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience supporting organisational change and continuous improvement initiatives
  • CIPD qualified or able to demonstrate equivalent professional experience
  • Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Experience within the charity or not-for-profit sector is desirable, though candidates from other sectors are encouraged to apply

Location: Kent & Surrey (hybrid working with travel across both counties required)

Duration: Permanent

Pay rate: £50,000 per annum + Benefits

Working hours: Full-time

Working pattern: Hybrid
