Employee Benefits Consultant
Salary: £75,000 - £85,000
Location: Portsmouth / Plymouth / Southampton
Working Pattern: Hybrid
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients, helping them shape effective and competitive employee benefits strategies
- Assess existing benefits arrangements and recommend practical improvements around design, cost and employee value
- Research the market and advise clients on suitable providers, products and benefits solutions
- Manage the delivery of benefits programmes, working with clients, providers and internal teams
- Use benefits data, employee feedback and market insight to identify trends and opportunities
- Produce clear reports and recommendations to help clients make informed benefits decisions
- Support employee engagement through presentations, workshops, webinars and benefits communications
- Keep clients informed on legislative and regulatory developments, including pensions, auto-enrolment, tax and GDPR
- Contribute to the wider growth of the benefits function through marketing, thought leadership and client development
Ideal Candidate
- Proven experience within employee benefits consulting or a similar advisory role
- Strong understanding of the UK benefits market, including pensions, healthcare, life assurance and voluntary benefits
- Confident working directly with employers and senior stakeholders
- Commercially minded with the ability to understand client objectives and turn them into practical benefits solutions
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret benefits data and market information
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
- Highly organised, able to manage multiple client projects and competing deadlines
- Proactive, self-motivated and comfortable working as part of a wider national team
- Good knowledge of relevant legislation, including GDPR, auto-enrolment and the Equality Act
- PSE experience would be advantageous, alongside relevant CII, PMI or CIPD qualifications
