What You'll DoAs a Practice Area Senior Manager within BCG's Technology, Media, and Telecommunications (TMT) Practice, you will own, structure and drive the management of the regional PA agenda - with particular emphasis on our commercial engine and our people. You will oversee the commercial rhythm of the region, including account management, pipeline development, and commercial excellence, while playing a central role in the health, engagement, and growth of our people base. You will serve as a trusted thought partner to the RPAL and leadership team, ensuring all activities across Europe, Middle East, South America, and Africa run with clarity and momentum.
Strategy & Leadership- Partner with the RPAL and leadership team to develop and implement the strategic regional plan
- Support the RPAL in refining and implementing the regional operating and governance model
- Shape and drive execution of the strategic plan, partnering with the EMESA RPAL and leadership team on priorities and initiatives
- Serve as a genuine stand-in for the RPAL or GPMSD on operational coverage
- Oversee the commercial rhythm of the region - account management, pipeline development, and commercial excellence
- Track and synthesize commercial performance data - using AI-assisted tools where relevant - to generate sharper business insights for the leadership team
- Support business development discussions with the RPAL and sector leadership
- Play a key role connecting commercial plans and execution into our People strategy and delivery
- Partner with the Global People Leader to drive the TMT People agenda, including the size and health of our People base
- Lead the engagement strategy for our critical Expert base
- Drive regional people activities - including affiliation, optimal deployment of CT/ECT talent, and pipelining - using data and AI-powered tools to track cohort health and surface insights proactively
- Lead region-specific people initiatives including DE&I agenda and PDPC process
- Automate and simplify recurring operational processes - reporting cycles, briefing preparation, meeting rhythms - using GenAI tools to free capacity for higher-value work
- Lead organization of key regional meetings and events
- Produce content for regional leaders and the leadership team across practice forums and client showcases
- Drive internal communications for the region, ensuring clarity and connectivity across a dispersed, multinational team
- Self-starting with a strong work ethic and entrepreneurial drive to work autonomously
- Managing ambiguity with a high level of comfort - using independent thinking and judgment to move forward without requiring a reference guide for every process
- Bringing a positive and highly collaborative approach to working across a multinational matrix environment
- Earning the respect of a very senior cohort of Managing Directors and Partners who are remotely located - juggling competing priorities, showing influence, and meeting demanding deadlines
- Complex project management - multi-tasking, driving strategic analysis to clear recommendations, and using AI tools to streamline the operational load so you stay focused on the work that matters most
- Synthesizing data from multiple sources - including AI-assisted analytics - to generate actionable business insights for senior leadership
- Refining and implementing governance models and operating rhythms, ensuring the region runs with discipline and clarity
- Affiliation and communications - building energy and engagement across a dispersed community through events, content, and proactive outreach
- Supporting others, including senior business leaders, in clarifying problems and building cross-Practice Area consensus
- Adopting new tools and technologies quickly and applying them practically - including building simple AI-powered workflows when the right solution doesn't exist yet
- Relevant experience in a strategy, consulting, in-house consulting, or similar role; consulting background preferred
- Master's degree or MBA preferred
- Structured thinking with strong analytical problem solving skills
- Exceptional organizational, planning, and project management skills; strong on conceptualization, follow through, and accountability
- Demonstrated business understanding with strong interest in TMT topics - experience in the space is a plus but not required
- Ability to resolve complex and undefined problems autonomously, operating effectively in a matrix organization
- Strong interpersonal skills and credibility; ability to influence and collaborate with senior Practice Area members and beyond
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; fluency in German is a plus
- Strong data fluency and comfort working across analytical tools; proficiency in AI-powered platforms alongside Excel and PowerPoint
- Comfort and curiosity with GenAI tools - with the ability to build simple custom workflows or skills where needed, and a drive to keep improving how the team works
- Ability to respect client, BCG, and people information as personal and confidential
You will work closely with the TMT EMESA Regional Practice Area Leader (RPAL) and leadership team, along with the Global People Leader (MDP) and Global Practice Senior Director. For additional tasks, you will collaborate with the wider Practice Area Team. Further interfaces exist with our People Director, Regional Managers, Sector Managers, and regional BCG functions and teams as needed.
