Our Power & Low Carbon Solutions practice is seeking experienced Electricity Markets Modellers to join our team.

We are looking for passionate individuals interested in the future of energy markets to join our Insights team. The ideal candidate will be able to share their perspectives on market developments. We value a strong focus on personal and team development, alongside a passion for the energy sector.

What you will be doing

• Addressing complex problems and delivering insights on market share, supply-side composition, price projections, energy storage, hydrogen, interconnectors, renewables, demand flexibility, decarbonization, and asset risks.
• Developing market scenarios to support strategic decisions.
• Authoring industry-leading reports and thought leadership on European wholesale markets and flexibility.
• Collaborating across global offices to ensure a cohesive approach to market issues.

You will be at the forefront of power markets, using models to generate insights into future trends. You will join a curious, motivated, and high-caliber team.

Our experts leverage market intelligence, deep expertise, and advanced tools to provide valuable insights, including projections, renewable prices, margins, IRR, and more.

Your skills and experience

We seek candidates at all experience levels, from junior to senior, committed to high-quality insights and modelling.

Essential Skills/Experience:

• Strong curiosity and passion for learning.
• Proven quantitative and analytical skills; comfortable with complex models and large datasets.
• Solid understanding of electricity market fundamentals.
• Ability to communicate complex results clearly to diverse audiences.
• Self-motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset, capable of taking ownership and working under pressure.
• Effective collaboration, influencing skills, and ability to build consensus.
• Excellent planning and organizational skills.

Desirable Skills/Experience:

• Experience in long-term energy market scenarios involving policy, technology, and market drivers.
• Familiarity with flexibility markets, ancillary services, and balancing mechanisms.
• Knowledge of related sectors like gas, carbon, coal, and macroeconomics.
• Hands-on experience with electricity and flexibility market models (e.g., AURORAxmp, BID3, PLEXOS, PROMOD).
• Comfort working with Python scripts and interpreting results.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI.
