What You Need to Know

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer (Intermediate or Senior level, depending on experience) to join a dynamic team at head office in Kilkenny. The initial commitment is to be office based in Kilkenny for the first six months, with the potential for hybrid or remote working afterwards, subject to experience and agreement.

Your New Job

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you'll take the lead on a wide variety of building projects. You'll be responsible for all aspects of electrical design, collaborating closely with clients and team members. The role reports directly to a Director and offers scope to mentor junior colleagues, depending on experience. This is a full time position, based initially onsite.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Create comprehensive layouts, schematics, and calculations for electrical systems in buildings across multiple sectors
  • Ensure all designs comply with current regulations and industry standards
  • Engage directly with clients to define requirements and develop technical solutions
  • Oversee project documentation, budgeting, and schedule management
  • Participate in technical workshops, QA audits, and site inspections
  • Review contractor submissions and deliver projects within agreed timelines and budgets
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to continuous technical improvement
  • Support tender bids and report to the Director on project performance
What Are We Looking For?
  • Minimum Level 7 Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering/Building Services or equivalent
  • Ideally 5+ years' experience in a design office environment
  • Strong track record in building electrical services design
  • Proficiency in design software (e.g. AutoCAD, BIM/Revit, Dialux/Relux, Amtech) and Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated client facing experience
  • Knowledge of Irish electrical regulations and EN Standards
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Full Clean European Drivers Licence (or in the process of obtaining one)
  • Eligibility to work in Ireland
