Electrical Technician

Working Hours:

Continental shifts - Mon-Sat, 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm and 10pm-6am.

39 hours per week

Based at our Llantarnam site, you'll play a key role within a collaborative engineering team, working closely with production and quality teams to minimise downtime and maintain high standards across safety, food hygiene, and performance. Whether it's planned maintenance or responding to breakdowns, your ability to think on your feet and resolve issues quickly will be critical to success.

Your Role in Creating Quality Bakes:

• Deliver planned preventative maintenance in line with CMMS schedules while accurately recording all activities and follow-ups
• Respond rapidly to breakdowns, diagnosing faults and carrying out effective electrical repairs to minimise downtime
• Proactively improve equipment reliability and performance through continuous improvement and practical solutions
• Work collaboratively with production, quality, and contractors to meet KPIs and maintain site standards
• Ensure all tasks are completed safely, maintaining high standards of hygiene, housekeeping, and risk control

The Key Ingredients:

• Electrical apprenticeship (NVQ Level 3 minimum; HNC/HND preferred) with strong PLC fault-finding experience (Allen Bradley desirable)
• Proven background in high-speed manufacturing (FMCG/food preferred) with strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills under pressure
• Experience in preventative maintenance, CMMS systems, and a solid understanding of health & safety and industrial systems (HMI/SCADA, networks)

Desirable experience:

• 18th Edition Electrical Regulations
• Experience with Siemens S5/S7 PLCs
• Knowledge of ABB robotics or PowerFlex drives
• Exposure to refrigeration systems or site utilities
• Understanding of TPM and 5S principles
• Familiarity with SAP systems
