Salary: Up to £42,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience. Overtime opportunities can increase this earning potential by up to a further £8,000-£10,000 per annum upon completion of essential company training
Base location: Contractually, base location will be Little Marlow STW - SL7 3SB, with work across the Thames Valley North area (including Aylesbury, High Wycombe, Oxford and Marlow).
Working pattern: 38 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 7:30 am - 3:36 pm. Standby rota payments and overtime opportunities may apply.
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to join our Waste Water team in the Thames Valley North area. You will inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify or repair mechanical plant and associated electrical equipment in a safe, efficient and timely manner with minimum supervision to ensure sites remain operational for our customers. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to Thames Water's environmental impact by reducing pollution from our sites.
What you'll be doing as the Electrical Technician
- Ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of yourself, colleagues, contractors and visitors by complying with Health and Safety regulations and Thames Water guidelines.
- Undertake reactive and planned maintenance; respond to alarms and fault-find to identify issues, fix or escalate; perform daily planned maintenance of plant and equipment; install new plant and equipment in line with current standards and regulations.
- Record work and asset information to improve business performance and identify future risks, raising issues for resolution as required.
- Provide specialist technical advice with up-to-date knowledge; coach, train and develop staff under your supervision, including the apprenticeship programme.
- Deliver excellent customer experience and contribute to overall customer satisfaction; interact with internal and external customers in a timely, professional, efficient, respectful and polite manner.
What you should bring to the role
- Time-served apprentice with significant experience in electrical systems or NVQ/C&G Level 3 in electrical engineering.
- 18th Edition preferred, but training can be provided.
- Strong problem-solving ability to identify issues and implement solutions or escalate as required.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide technical expertise to internal and external staff and contractors.
- Resilience and adaptability to working in a changing environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to apply design and standards.
- Knowledge and awareness of Health and Safety issues relevant to the industry.
- Team player capable of working across diverse teams, providing constructive feedback and supporting development of others.
- Full UK driving licence.
