Electrical Project Engineer

Our client is a Refinery which is located on the east coast of England in North Lincolnshire, United Kingdom. The Humber facility includes crude distilling, naphtha reforming, fluid catalytic cracking, hydrodesulfurization, thermal cracking and delayed coking units. The refinery has two coking units with associated calcining plants. This is the only coking refinery in the United Kingdom, and a producer of high-quality specialty graphite and anode-grade petroleum cokes. The refinery also produces a high percentage of transportation fuels. The majority of the light oils produced by the refinery are distributed to customers in the United Kingdom by pipeline, railcar and truck, while the other refined petroleum products are exported throughout the world.
They are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join their team on a temporary basis initially covering 12 months but this could continue after.
Standard working hours are 08:00 - 16:30. However, they also have 2 different working patterns as part of the flexible working policy at the business which is available to Agency workers.
THE ROLE:- Provide technical engineering expertise to enable estimates, studies, and design and construction functions to be fulfilled.
- Review the scope of works for the Project to ensure it is clearly understood and highlight any uncertainties or omissions.
- Be actively involved with any subsequent queries and discussions in establishing an accurate scope and understanding.
- Produce scopes of work as required.
- Produce specifications as required.
- Produce calculations as required.
- Assist in generation of cost estimates.
- Establish and maintain good working relationships.
- Ensure all designs & documentation (including vendor & manufacturer supplied information and inspection documentation) comply with company standards and requirements.
- Maintain a full Project history "file" documenting written and verbal instructions.
- Experience in design and construction within the Petrochemical sector.
- Establishes priorities and develops critical tasks.
- Good organisational skills.
- Self motivated and able to work as part of a Team.
- Degree in engineering.
- Desirable to have ten years experience in a similar role.
- Knowledge of Hazardous areas and types of protection.
- Knowledge of BS7671 Wiring Regulations.
- Knowledge of 11kV and 415V distribution systems.
- Knowledge of discipline specific design software required.
- Intermediate level computer skills to include word processing, spreadsheets, email, database.
