Base Location: Medway Power Station
Salary: £58,100 - £87,100 + annual performance incentive + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.
Working Pattern: Permanent Full Time, 37 hours per week Flexible working patterns available
What is the Role?The Electrical Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the daily planned maintenance of electrical assets across the Power Station, including power distribution systems, HV/LV motors, actuators, switchgear (up to 400 kV), transformers, generators (up to 15 kV), and excitation systems.
You will lead a team of technicians and electrical apprentices, working closely with the Electrical Engineer, third-party partners, and SSEs Engineering and Innovation teams. Collaborating with mechanical and C&I counterparts, youll support the Stations Production team and coordinate with Shift Group Leaders to achieve operational goals.
You will- Manage a team of technicians, apprentices and contract partners
- Control annual maintenance budget
- Deliver planned maintenance on time and to a high standard
- Prioritise unplanned, emergent work
- Proactively seek our innovative ways to improve SHE, availability, reliability and efficiency within the business
- Knowledge and experience of managing and maintaining high voltage plant and equipment, synchronous generators, excitation systems, LV distribution boards, actuators, motors and protection and control systems for LV and HV systems
- Obtained a minimum qualification of (or equivalent to) HNC in Electrical Engineering, IOSH (minimum) but preferred NEBOSH General or diploma
- Ability to manage a small technical team and contract partners
- Ability to work well with different levels of contractual, technical and managerial staff
- Willingness to set and expect high standards of work and safety and capable of leading by example
