Electrical Fitter - Rolling Stock

Rullion require experienced Mechanical and Electrical Fitters to work with a world leading Rail / Rolling Stock company as a Train Maintainer, based out of their Train Maintenance Service Depot in Golders Green, London.
This position would suit candidates with either Rolling Stock, Light Rail, Large Transportation or Military Vehicle experience.
Train Maintainer / Team Member, Golders Green, London Contract duration: 14 - 20 weeks Monday - Friday Shifts: Day Shift, 07:00 to 16:00 This role falls inside of IR35 and therefore payment options are either PAYE or Umbrella: Hourly rate: £30.02 - £31.63 (Umbrella) / £23.55 (PAYE) Role Overview:The role will involve carrying out a wiring modification to the train. This will primarily consist of fitting a pre-made wiring loom within the cab, followed by basic continuity testing to ensure the modification has been completed correctly.
The contract is expected to run for approximately 14 weeks, although there is potential for this to extend to 18-20 weeks.
Responsibilities:- Perform maintenance tasks on Rolling Stock, including preparation, repairs, overhaul, and shunting, adhering to specified Company, Quality, and Health & Safety procedures.
- Carry out wiring modifications within the train cab, including the installation of pre-made looms.
- Undertake basic electrical continuity testing following installation.
- Attend team briefings, communicate relevant matters, and contribute to process improvement.
- Coach and develop other Train Maintainers as needed.
- Report accidents/incidents and participate in training programs.
- Utilise line-side equipment and handheld devices as instructed.
- Undertake maintenance off-site or attend failed trains, and drive company vehicles if licensed.
- GCSE standard education.
- Completion of a Level 3 apprenticeship or equivalent in Mechanical qualifications (City & Guilds, SVQ, NVQ), with practical knowledge and experience in mechanical and/or electrical engineering.
- Proficiency in electronics, pneumatics, and mechanics.
- Previous experience in Rolling Stock Maintenance preferred.
- Experience carrying out mechanical and/or basic electrical modifications.
- Ability to install wiring looms and undertake basic continuity testing.
- Background in a process/production environment.
- Familiarity with Quality and Health & Safety standards.
- Understanding of IT and handheld equipment.
